Don't Rain on My Parade?

We decided to brave the weather and go to the Fairborn parade. It started as just a sprinkle, but just as the parade started, so did the rain. We stayed for about 20 minutes and then decided to pack it up. We were soaked. It was about 60 degrees. I don't remember ever wearing jeans and jackets for the 4th of July. We did feel sorry for all the people in the parade that weren't able to carry an umbrella.

That looks familiar!! As we left for DC, we wondered if we should even go. It was POURING down rain!! By the time we got into DC (we drove all the way in and parked to avoid the Metro Madness---yes, that's the official name I gave it--LOL!!), the rain had stopped. We walked from the parking garage (the one we used while you were here) to The Mall and the rain had stopped. We hadn't eaten, so decided to get a hot dog in the fenced in area. Started raining again while in line. We waited for an hour for our $4 hot dogs and then found a spot to sit with 20 minutes to spare!! It sprinkled during the fireworks and afterwards, but wasn't bad enough to use an umbrella as we walked back to the parking garage. We made it all the way home by 11:25---that's a record. Believe it or not, driving into DC seems to be the way to go!!

well.......if you all had been in clarendon, texas for the 4th of July.......it was nice and sunny. a little on the hot side, but it was not unbearable. we had a lovely parade full of firetrucks and horses of course..and the celebration on the courthouse square (it all just doesn't seem as exciting anymore...who knows.) then we headed back to the house for homemade ice cream. YUM. and not one picture...:( i did see 2 people that i had not seen in YEARS.......Tully Leffew and Brandy Vargas. They are both living in Amarillo.
